Recently where I live, my boots have excitingly got an NYX stand, so of course, I had to run there and have a look! When I got there, all I could see was a wall full of people’s backs as obviously I wasn’t the only one excited. Nonetheless when I wiggled by petite myself through I got to look at some of their bits and bobs, therefore meaning I’m not going to be looking at my bank account for a while! However I can honestly say, from using the stuff every day, it was worth it.

I’m one of those girls that like to do my make –up every day, and sometimes really go for it even when I’m just walking to the shop round the corner. I love doing my make-up. Period.  What can I say?! I decided to get a range of things however there are three things I definitely want to talk about.

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette –

This contour and highlight palette is something I’ve been using every day since I’ve had it. The four highlight and contour’s on the left side are the ones I’ve been using, mainly the contour colours as I’m not a massive fan of highlight at the minute, however, I’m trying to get interested in it.  The palette has a range of colours for all skin types but also has sculpted much more definition in my face that previous makeup I’ve used. I have had people mentioning my face looking thinner and I can guarantee you I haven’t been losing weight, potentially gaining if anything!

NYX Mineral Stick Foundation –

Colour shade: 04

Now, I’m not normally one to like stick foundations. Give me a liquid or mousse any day that’s what I’d normally use however when I saw this I thought I’d give it a go. The stick foundation always gave off the idea of it being for younger people who are just starting out in makeup and I think that’s because I used to have fake toy ones as a child…if anyone remembers what I’m referring too! In all honesty, when putting it on, you think it’s not going to look good. It feels weird and unnatural as I’m so used to dewy foundations not dry rub on kind of things. Nevertheless, it’s actually pretty good! I have been using it every day recently and I reach for it more than my other foundations because it’s easy. Having a busy schedule with a lot of deadlines and meetings, doing the whole hog of foundation is time-consuming however applying this and then blending it out has been a life saver. This is something I’d recommend to people who don’t like a cake feel of make-up and something that is not time-consuming to apply. I think the coverage is ok and with a bit of concealer, you are good to go!

The last thing I want to talk about is:

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray –

A setting spray is something I have never really thought about getting. I was so used to my make-up being half down my face by the end of the day, and to be honest I was ok with that! I had seen a lot of people going on about the Dewy finish setting spray by NYX and thought that’s not for me! I don’t want my face to be anymore oily than it has to be. I just don’t like the shine on my face, personally. So when browsing I saw the matte finish and it is actually really good. In all honestly I’ve only used it a couple of times because I always forget about it, however, my makeup has stayed put a bit longer than it normally does and it is also just super refreshing to me and really affordable, so I’ll definitely be trying to get more into the habit of using it.
